Where Is Hill Countey Fare Peanut Oil From
Best and worst Hill Country Fare/H-E-B brand products?
Gimme those Honey & Nut Toasted Oats in a bag plz. But keep the Hill Country Fare ripoff Crunch berries away from me, that cereal is a travesty.

THAT Green Sauce. I used to practically drink that stuff. Then one day I checked the label and saw rendered chicken fat is a main ingredient (I'm vegetarian).
Wish they made a vegetarian version, but then again the chicken fat is probably what makes it taste so damn good.

THAT Green Sauce/Salsa Dona/Taqueria salsa is pretty easy to make and w/o chicken fat.
Here is an old reddit post with a solid recipe. To get it really creamy you need a good blender. I only have a stick blender and can get it pretty creamy, but not quite to the consistency of restaurants.

The red sauce is really good. I thought it was just plain salsa but its way up there on my make a work casserole list.

I did that this week. Did I let it go to waste... no. I know if I return it, it'll get thrown away or damaged out. I'd feel bad bringing one, double-dipped in container to the office.

Same boat. I just learned that jiffy corn bread mix has lard in it. There's a vegetarian version tho

In house tortillas
Texas Heat and Sweet & Sassy Trail mix

I swear the Sweet and Sassy has the perfect mix of MSG and Crack to make it habit forming and irresistible.

The Mixela half corn/flour ones are great!

The in house tortillas don't seem to be baked all the way... Maybe on purpose? They're pretty good if you toast them on your stove first. Much better than the tortillas in the aisle. Not as good as tortillas at some of the restaurants that make them from scratch.

Overall, I believe HEB is doing a good job at the quality of their products. On to the fun part of this question though. Personal least favorite - their ground mustard which has no flavor. Personal favorite - if the bulk section counts..the chocolate covered gummy bears.

Where are these chocolate covered gummy bears?? I haven't seen them at Mueller or Hancock.

Their kettle chips variety pack is always in my apartment.

The HCF Chocolate mint cookies are DELICIOUS. Just as good if not better than the Girl Scouts and it's like .88! At my HEB they are on the very bottom shelf of the cookie section.
level 2
I just discovered these last week and have been hoarding them, they're so good! I noticed they also have several of the other GS varieties (e.g. fudge stripe and the peanut butter ones). And yeah less than $1 a pack!
level 2
Yeah, those things are god damn dangerous; almost always have a box of them in the freezer.

The H-E-B brand chewy chocolate chip cookies rock my socks off too. Honorable mention to their "Cowboy Cookie"

I really wish I could find a box of the Mochachino Twisters, their competitor to the Oreo. They were SO good. But I literally only saw them once and never again at my HEB (Far West). I'm glad I bought them when I did.
